Privacy policy

Agenda Familial L.B. Inc. and its subsidiaries ("we", "Agenda Familial", "Cible Locale", "Accès 411" or "Près de moi") have prepared this privacy statement (the "Statement") and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Statement sets out how we collect, use and maintain personal information about users of any websites we maintain (each, a "Website by Agenda Familial L.B. Inc."). This statement takes into account the requirements of federal and provincial privacy laws and reflects our ongoing commitment to protect your personal information.

BY USING THE FAMILY PLANNER WEB SITE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS STATEMENT, PLEASE DISCONTINUE USE OF THIS SITE IMMEDIATELY.

What is "personal information"?

Personal information is information about you that allows you to be identified. Your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number are examples of personal information. However, the name, address and telephone number of an individual listed in a telephone directory are publicly available (if the individual can refuse to have such information listed in such a directory), and therefore do not fall under the definition of "personal information", as they are publicly available. Furthermore, in some cases, some of this information may constitute commercial information which is not covered by this statement. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset e-mail.

Collection of personal information

We do not automatically gather any personal information from visitors to L'Agenda Familial L.B. Inc. websites. Personal information is only obtained online if you supply it voluntarily, usually through contacting us via e-mail, entering a contest online, responding to online surveys, participating in a blog or forum, providing feedback, or subscribing to services. You are not required to provide any personal information to view content on a L'Agenda Familial website. Also, please be aware that when you share personal information in public areas of a L'Agenda Familial web site, that information may be seen and used by other users. We encourage you to exercise discretion when sharing personal information in such areas.

If you choose not to provide us with personal information online, no material consequences will result, although you may not be able to participate in certain promotional offers, receive product information or use those portions of a Family Agenda web site that require customized information or applications. The Family Agenda websites offer users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point where we ask for your contact information.

L'Agenda Familial websites may use cookies to track user traffic patterns. A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites place on your computer's hard drive when you visit them. It can only contain information you supply yourself. It cannot read data off your hard drive or read cookie files created by other sites. Agenda Familial L.B. Inc. does not link this information to data about individual users, nor does it share or sell this information to third parties. We use cookies only to personalize the experience of those who visit Agenda Familial websites. If you prefer not to receive cookies from Family Agenda websites, you can set your browser to notify you before accepting cookies, and you can refuse the cookie when your browser alerts you to its presence. You can also set your browser to refuse all cookies. However, this may restrict the sections of the Family Agenda website to which you have access.

We may use software that receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted the Family Agenda websites. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting Family Agenda websites.

We may also use service providers to serve third-party advertisements on the Family Agenda websites or Family Agenda advertisements on other websites. When serving such advertisements, these service providers may place "cookies" on your computer's browser and collect certain anonymous information about your visits to other websites or to the Family Agenda websites. This information may include browser type, IP address, domain name and web page name from which you entered such sites, your web activity and time of day. This information is used to better understand and optimize online advertising campaigns.

From time to time, we analyze traffic patterns and use the Family Agenda web sites to determine what features and services people like and dislike, so that we can improve what we do. We prepare aggregated statistics or summaries of information to describe our services to third parties such as potential business partners and advertisers and for other lawful purposes.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This makes it possible to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments, rather than leaving them in the moderation queue.

For accounts that register on our site (where applicable), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All accounts can view, modify or delete their personal information at any time (with the exception of their login). Site managers can also view and modify this information.

If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

Use and sharing of personal information

Generally, we collect and use personal information to administer our contests, promotions, surveys, reward programs and other services, to understand our customers' reactions, needs and preferences, and for the general management of our business.

We may also use personal information to communicate marketing or promotional materials about our products, programs and services to our customers or suppliers, or to assist our front-line staff in making personalized offers to our customers. We may exchange or merge personal information with data obtained from third parties for the same purposes.

We may disclose personal information to our agents or contractors in connection with the services they perform for us. Our written agreements with these agents and contractors stipulate that this information may only be used for the purpose for which it was communicated to them and that our agents and contractors must manage personal information in compliance with this declaration. Some of our agents and contractors are located outside Canada and are therefore subject to foreign laws that may require disclosure of personal information to government agencies in their country.

Consent

By providing us with your personal information, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of that information as described in this Statement, as amended from time to time, or as described prior to or at the time of collection, use or disclosure, as the case may be. If you do not want your personal information collected, used or disclosed in this manner, then please: refrain from providing us with your personal information; exercise the opt-out option described above or offered at the time of collection of your information; or refrain from following the consent procedure described above or offered at the time of collection of your information.

If you have submitted personal information to us and wish to withdraw your consent to its retention, use or disclosure, please contact us through this link: https://agendafamilial.ca/contact/. You may withdraw your consent at any time upon reasonable notice and subject to any legal or contractual restrictions that may apply. If you withdraw your consent, we may no longer be able to provide you with certain products or services.

Where permitted or required by law, we may collect, use or disclose your personal information without your consent, for example, to collect a debt you owe us, to comply with a lawful request from a government agency or to comply with a court order.

Safeguards and retention of information

We use physical, organizational and technological safeguards to protect your personal information against theft and loss, as well as unauthorized access, use, disclosure and destruction. As a general rule, you can visit Family Agenda websites without disclosing any personal information about yourself. However, since electronic data transmission is never completely secure, we do not guarantee the security of any personal information you submit online, which you do at your own risk.

Conditions of use and amendments to this declaration

Your use of the Family Agenda websites and any dispute arising out of such use are subject to this statement and are governed by our Terms of Use, including our choice of law provisions. We reserve the right to modify the Policy and to update it in a timely manner. We encourage you to review our Policy from time to time to ensure that you are aware of any changes we may make.
